In light of my data HTH I got from my companions and my family, I heard HTH along time a go there are a great deal of mishap happened along the street beginning from are cap until shower way Accident between vehicle n vehicle, cruiser n bike, vehicle n direct and practically appalling is between engine n lorry. Some of the time deadly mishap was happened along the street. Key What we can see the street along separated raja.. There are numerous Junction. As we can e numerous vehicles go in out Other than HTH, I practically sure if u go out and hold up at the street side now, around 2 minutes u can see the vehicle, bike or lorry drive with no speed limit/quick. Now and again I was feeling so terrified when I ride bicycle along the street. Next About traffic light As we can see along the street at separated raja there are around 2 or 3 traffic light yet it was such a significant number of Junctions. Im sitting on a bus
Iâm sitting on a bus Getting from London (England) to Charlottesville (Virginia) is much easier said than done. I woke up (well, my mom woke me up) at around 7am, for an 11:15am flight. I made it in plenty of time. Got on the plane, sat down next to a kindly elderly British woman with a posh accentâ¦and woke up an hour later, to find us in the air. Realized that I slept through take-off, which is disappointing since I always enjoy take-off. Seven hours, much GRE studying, one grant proposal draft, one edible lunch, and one inedible snack later, the plane began its descent. Lower, lower, lower, lower, and the tarmac rose to meet us, until WHOOSH. The nose of the plane turned up, and we took off into the sky again. I nearly threw up. A woman across the aisle from me DID throw up: whether from terror or from motion sickness, or both, I dont know. I was certainly sympathetic to both. I was suddenly very conscious of the fact that I was sitting in a little metal box, up in the air, with a bunch of strangers, my life in the hands of another (albeit highly trained) stranger sitting in a cockpit. All the passengers turned to stare at each other I had an entire conversation with a guy across the plane, using only our eyes. Did you feel that? Yes. Is thatâ¦supposed to happen? I dont think so. Should we be panicking? Not yet. He smiled, which made me feel a little better. FINALLY, after what felt like fifteen minutes but was probably more like two, a voice appeared on the loudspeaker to comfort us. Ladies and gentlemen! he said. As you probably noticed, we just went back up in the air. Yes, thank you. Umâ¦this is quite normal, and happens quite often. Usually the reason is that theres something on the tarmac, orâ¦or its too crowded. Im sure the pilot will explain to us what happened exactly, very soon. Might be a few minutes. Wait, youre NOT the pilot? About 5-10 nauseating minutes later, the pilot FINALLY came over the loudspeaker and told us that there had been some issues, but that we would land in 7-8 minutes. He didnt actually tell us what the issues were, but frankly I was just relieved to hear his voice. Longest. 7-8 minutes. Ever. I sat with my head against the seat in front of me, eyes closed, until I felt the wheels hit the tarmac. I have never been so thrilled to haul a heavy backpack through an airport; at least my feet were on the ground. Then, I stood in line at Dulles International Airport customs for something like an hour (can someone please explain to me why TWO SEPARATE PEOPLE need to read my customs form, such that I need to stand in two different lines, on either side of baggage collection?) and spent the hour watching time tick on relentlessly, because I REALLY NEEDED to get to Union Station to catch my bus to Charlottesville. I got to the front of the line at 3:50pm. My bus was at 5:05pm. I still needed to get from Dulles Airport to Union Station which is about a 40-minute drive (at best, not including traffic). Me: Hello. Customs official: â¦Are you okay? Me: Uhâ¦yes, Im fine. Customs official (reading my form): Youre turning 21 this year. Me: Yes! Customs official: Are you excited? Me: Yeah, I guess so. Im a little freaked out, though. I feel old. Customs official (visibly upset): â¦why would you say that? He, presumably feeling even older than I did, stamped my form in a huff, and I booked it out of there, wheeling my suitcase through reunited families and drivers holding up name signs. I found the Super Shuttle desk. Me: Hello. I need to get to Union Station. Super Shuttle employee: No problem! Me: Is there a shuttle leaving right now? Super Shuttle employee: Ummmâ¦theres one leaving within twenty minutes. Me: My bus leaves at 5:05pm. Super Shuttle employee: Oh. Ummâ¦well, then, theres actually a shuttle leaving right now. How mysterious. Me: â¦Okay. Thank you. I broke a world record for Fastest Credit Card transaction, then another for Fastest Sprint From Dulles Airport Super Shuttle Desk To Super Shuttle Vehicle. Super Shuttle Driver: Slow down, dont worry Im not leaving yet! Me: Actually, I was hoping you WERE leaving. Super Shuttle Driver: Where are you going? Me: Union Station. I have a bus to catch at 5:05. The Super Shuttle Driver looked at his watch, and his grimace brought on another wave of nausea. Me: You dont think I can make it? Super Shuttle Driver: Well, Im leaving at 4, but thats cutting it very close. What choice did I have? I threw my suitcase in the back, and jumped in. It took us about 20 minutes to get to DC. It took us another 20 minutes to traverse five blocks of DC. At 4:50, I was leaning forward and biting my lip, and at 4:53, I had my backpack over my left shoulder, and bus ticket in my right hand. The Super Shuttle driver took me straight to the Greyhound entrance, because hes a hero I jumped off the bus, and made it halfway up the stairs when a chorus of homeless people outside the station yelled YOUR PHONE! YOUR PHONE! to alert me to the fact that I had dropped my phone on the sidewalk. I ran back and grabbed it, shrieking thank you! thank you!, then ran as quickly as it is possible to run while wheeling a suitcase (I was limited by the coefficient of friction between the suitacse wheels and the tarmac.) At 4:57, I was on the bus, somehow, safe. Now, its 6pm. We just left Springfield, VA. There are little white puffy clouds in the sky, and the sun is tanning the left side of my face. My laptop is on my lap (where a laptop should be, I guess) and my headphones are on. Mumford Sons is up. It occurs to me as I write this that Ive been traveling for 16 hours. I credit my consciousness to the hour-long nap I took at the beginning of my flight, and to the various panic attacks Ive been having this afternoon. Theyve kept me on my toes. Tomorrow, Im going to see a movie with my fellow summer interns. And on Monday, its back to work! I have a post half-done (I started it on the plane) about what Im doing this summer and why, so thatll be up soon. Three more hours to go!

Types Of Crime And Violence Against Tourists - 1620 Words
Types of Crime and Violence against Tourists It is often said by Jamaican government sources that Jamaica has one of the lowest crime rates for tourists in the Caribbean. This is arguable, but not entirely wrong. It is true that there are few reported crimes committed against tourists in Jamaica. According to (OSAC 2016), ââ¬Å"most criminal activity is Jamaican-on-Jamaican violence, often involving organized crime elements and gangs, however, these occurrences can impact American visitors.â⬠Tourist areas tend to have low crime rates, however many people deterred from coming to the island because of the negative publicity of crime and violence. According to (Harper, 2001), Tourists are more likely to experience larceny, theft, and robbery,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦According to (Walker, 2012) in 2007, 17 passengers from the Carnival Conquest cruise ship passengers were robbed at gunpoint during a cruise line sponsored excursion after sailing in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Harassment The Canadian Human Rights Commission (2013) defines harassment as, ââ¬Å"any unwanted physical or verbal behaviour that offends or humiliates you.â⬠Harassment has become a perennial problem; which is being frowned upon by the cruise officials as a nuisance to their guests. The cruise shipping market is very intense and there are other competing interests in which Jamaica has to contend with. According to (Pizam and Mansfeld,2005), in destinations like Jamaica, harassment and theft against cruise passengers have become so threatening that cruise lines have withdrawn such stops from their travel plan. Therefore, it is no puzzle that visitor harassment is more widespread in the Caribbean than any major region and that drug peddling is a major aspect of the problem. Tourists are sometimes approached by people who are very insistent that you stop and talk with them or purchase something from them. Rape/Sexual Assault Rape is a heinous act performed when one party wishes to exact complete power and control over another. The Da Vinci Code and the Last Supper Free Essays
When it comes to world-famous paintings, Leonardo Dad Vineââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠is always on the top of the list. What is it that, even now, 500 years after its creation in 1498, makes ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠such a mysterious and conspiracy-laden painting? First, there is a level of mystery surrounding its creator, Leonardo Dad Vinci. Not only was Dad Vinci an influential painter, he was also an engineer, sculptor, designer, and scientist. We will write a custom essay sample on The Da Vinci Code and the Last Supper or any similar topic only for you Order Now His ingenious concepts in many subjects and technological inventions were so advanced for the 14th to 1 5th century technology that even some 20th-century inventors, like he Wright brothers, pulled from his work. There have been a lot of theories on Dad Vineââ¬â¢s life and on his paintings and it is believed that ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠contained hidden messages, which Dad Vinci encoded in the painting himself. This essay will examine what these theories are and how they are counter argued by scholars and art historians. Although there have been many fiction novels about Dad Vineââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠, Dan Brownââ¬â¢s novel The Dad Vinci Code, published in 2004, garnered an enormous amount of support from the world wide readers. It brought up a huge scandal on Jesus that, e and Mary Magdalene were lovers and in fact there was a child (or children) between them. In the novel, a secret group, ââ¬Å"Prior of Soon,â⬠protects the descendants of Jesus until today. Dad Vinci, as a member of ââ¬Å"Prior of Soonâ⬠, was aware of the truth about Jesus and Mary so he encoded this secret in ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠to send out the message . ââ¬Å"The Dad Vinci Codeâ⬠changed some of its readersââ¬â¢ beliefs toward their religion, but scholars say this novel is merely based on fiction. In the words of Renaissance art expert Elizabeth Pillion, ââ¬Å"â⬠¦ It is severely flawed. As a reader of fiction, I think it is a tremendously entertaining viewââ¬â¢ . The Dad Vinci Codeâ⬠says that, in Dad Vineââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠, the figure sitting on the right side of Jesus is obviously a female person; the figure does not have a beard like rest of the disciples and the figureââ¬â¢s hand is placed closest to Jesusââ¬â¢ right hand, suggesting that the two are physically close. Scholars argue that there have been a lot of paintings on the subject of the Last Supper, and it had been common to depict John next to Jesus and beardless. Disco did Boninessââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠from the early 14th century portrayed John in similar ways. In Discoââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Last Supper,â⬠John is sitting on the left side of Jesus, beardless and leaning on Jesus. Domenici Grandchildââ¬â¢s version of ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠also has the same description of John, in which he is sitting on the left side of Jesus, leaning on the shoulders. Why do Johnââ¬â¢s illustrations share these similarities, when all these paintings were created over a century apart from each other? The Bible has all the answers. John is known to as Jesusââ¬â¢ most beloved disciple; in fact, the Bible specifically refers to John as ââ¬Å"the disciple, the one whom Jesus lovedâ⬠¦ [John 20:2;], and this phrase appears our times throughout the Gospel of John . The Bible describes the scene at the Last Supper with specific details of the position of John and Jesus; ââ¬Å"It is the Beloved Disciple who, while reclining beside Jesus at the Last Supper, asks Jesus, after being requested by Peter to do so, who it is that will betray himâ⬠[Joh n 13:23-25]. Both Disco and Garlanding were absolutely correct in terms of the position of Jesus and John according to the Bible and the appearance of John is also similar in both paintings. These three paintersââ¬â¢ versions of ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠are not the only paintings n the same subject; in fact, the earliest depiction of the last supper occurs in the frescos of the Catacomb of Rome from the 6th century . There were some conventions created when many painters drew the ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠over the centuries, and Leonardo Dad Vinci was simply following these conventions in accordance with both the Bible and earlier ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠depictions created by other painters. Dan Brownââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"the Dad Vinci Codeâ⬠disregarded the facts about these traditions, yet described Leonardo ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠as if everything started from it; therefore, the readers are biased with this faulty concept. Another argument made by Dan Brown has to do with SST. Peter, who is sitting next to the female figure. The novelââ¬â¢s interpretation of SST. Peter is that he was against the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene; therefore, he was illustrated showing a sign of execution on the female figureââ¬â¢s neck, and he is holding a knife with his right hand as a threat. The author says that Dad Vinci wouldnââ¬â¢t have drawn these features unless they meant something, but scholars argue differently. Iconography is one of the characteristics of Renaissance arts, which includes symbolism in the paintings . Pewterââ¬â¢s holding a knife at the Last Supper is actually a Christian symbol, foreseeing of the event followed by the Last Supper. In Discoââ¬â¢s painting, it is observed that there are a lot of knives present on the table. Although Peter is not holding a knife in this painting, the knives serve as symbolism. It is more obvious in Grandchildââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Last Supper,â⬠in which Peter is actually holding a knife in his right hand. Contrary to Dan Brownââ¬â¢s explanation, it does not look like Peter is threatening someone else. The reference to Pewterââ¬â¢s knife appears in the Bible. When Judas showed up with soldiers to arrest Jesus, Peter fought back and cut off the ear of the high priestââ¬â¢s servant, named Mulches [John 18:10]. By illustrating Peter with a knife in his hand, it serves as foreshadowing of a future event. It is wrong to say that, because Peter is holding a knife in the painting, it has a meaning of threatening other person, but it serves as a symbolism off future event. What appears to be Pewterââ¬â¢s showing an execution gesture on Johnââ¬â¢s neck is, in fact, a misinterpretation made by ââ¬Å"the Dad Vinci Codeâ⬠. As discussed above, the Bible has some specific details on the ignitions of Peter and John. ââ¬Å"It is the Beloved Disciple who, while reclining beside Jesus at the Last Supper, asks Jesus, after being requested by Peter to do so, who it is that will betray himâ⬠[John 13:23-25]. Leonardo Dad Vineââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Last Supperâ⬠is describing the scene of Pewterââ¬â¢s requesting John to ask Jesus. Dan Brownââ¬â¢s explanation of the gesture of Peter is misleading for its readers; therefore, it is only a fictional setting and it should not be taken seriously. Dan Brown was very clever to use Leonardo Dad Vinci as the theme of the book, and he fact that everyone loves to believe a worldwide conspiracy made ââ¬Å"the Dad Vinci Codeâ⬠very successful fiction novel. It is remarkable how a novel can have so much impact on the worldwide readerââ¬â¢s views, even on religion, although this particular example shows how dangerous in can be. The readers who do not have much knowledge in art history or religious history can easily be biased with these fictional interpretations mentioned above. When reading these kinds of novels, it is the readerââ¬â¢s responsibility to be open-minded and seek the truth themselves instead of being fully influenced by the author. Jetblue Swot Analysis Essay Example
Jetblue Swot Analysis Paper JetBlue Airways SWOT Analysis Strengths â⬠¢ Extra Space- JetBlue has many strengths including more comfortable seating. They offer seating with more leg room some seats have 34 inches between the seats, while taller men and women who need the extra leg room can have seats with 38 inches. This is an extra feature that JetBlue offers to their customers. â⬠¢Advanced Technology and Entertainment-They also offer exciting entertainment. The entertainment includes XM Radio which includes over 100 channels at every seat and it is free. Also there is a TV at every seat with at least 36 Direct TV channels. JetBlue also offers movies and free wireless internet. â⬠¢Unique Services in the Airline Industry-When it comes to customer service JetBlue goes above and beyond other major airlines. They offer free unlimited snacks to everyone on the plane, and they are snacks that are name brand. For example, they offer Dunkin Donuts coffee and snacks. â⬠¢Newer Fleet compared to others- JetBlue also commands a newer fleet compared to the older more established low-cost airlines. This is an advantage for them because maintaining a newer fleet is less expensive than maintaining an older one. Weaknesses â⬠¢Gradual Global and Domestic Expansion-Another weakness is that JetBlue continues to expand, but not at a rapid rate. They only offer flights to 61 cities in the United States and some other countries. Global expansion is also taking place, but at a much slower rate. This is a disadvantage because direct flights save people time and money. â⬠¢Negative Press- Negative press that JetBlue has received lately is also a weakness. In May of 2010, a JetBlue pilot threatened to harm himself just hours prior to takeoff. We will write a custom essay sample on Jetblue Swot Analysis specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on Jetblue Swot Analysis specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on Jetblue Swot Analysis specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer In August of 2010, flight attendant Steven Slater argued with a passenger, grabbed a beer from the plane, and slid down the emergency exit. In February 2007, passengers on JetBlue 751 were stranded for 8 hours on the tarmac. This sort of press news serves to build a negative perspective of JetBlue that goes against the type of image they are trying to build. â⬠¢Stock and Volume Decline- When JetBlue started there was not stock for the first few years. From 2003 it began to decline in price. It began to rise in volume, but not in the price. Since 2007 it has been declining both in price and volume. Opportunities â⬠¢Low Fare air cost- JetBlue offers low prices on airfare compared to other airlines. Low cost will allow them to continue expanding. As the economy seems to be declining consumers continue to search for the lowest prices on their airfare. In 2009 JetBlue Airlines won an award for the top low cost airline for customer satisfaction by J. D. Power and Associates (http://jetblue. com). â⬠¢Direct Flights-Introduction of more direct flights could gain JetBlue a competitive advantage. While they offer services to Houston and Las Vegas, they do not offer a flight (direct or indirect) from Houston to Las Vegas. Expanding on their existing services would allow for them to gain a bigger customer base. â⬠¢Partnership with Established Airlines- JetBlue has four major airline partners, which are an advantage when it comes to marketing. Customers know, Lufthansa, South African Airways, Air Linqus, Cape Air and trust them. To have them as partners this helps JetBlue to get know around several different parts of the world. Threats â⬠¢Price of Fuel-One threat that JetBlue Airways faces along with many other airlines is the constant change in prices of fuel. The price of fuel is a threat because the airlines can not control the price. Many different things affect the prices of fuel like Mother Nature, and the price of oil going up. Today in the Houston area regular fuel prices are about 2. 50 a gallon, but a couple years ago the prices sky rocketed over 3 dollars a gallon, and this is an important factor when determining prices of an airline ticket. Small part of Airline Industry Southwest Airlines is also a threat they make up 13. 8% of the United States Market Share, compared to JetBlue Airways that makes up 4. 3%. (transtat. bts. gov/) Southwest flights cover more areas and have flights in many more cities. They have been in business since 1971 so they are not a new company. Southwest has a name that is very well known all over the United States. â⬠¢Fairly New Firm-A threat of JetBlue is that the company has only been in business since 1999. Compared to Southwestââ¬â¢s 39 ears in business to JetBlueââ¬â¢s 11 this is a weakness because they have not been in business as long and their name is not as established as other larger airline companies.
